Happy homecoming week! Today in class we analyzed the role of historians by examining how history is written. Have you ever played the game "telephone?" The same concept applies to history. The stories you hear and read about aren't as black and white as they appear on the page. They are merely someone's perspective and that perspective could potentially be full of bias, stereotypes and beliefs that would alter the truth of the story. As we discussed early colonial settlements by the English, we examined the infamous story of John Smith and Pocahontas in Jamestown. If you missed the activity, the link to the assignment is below.
