Today we discussed the role of men and women in today's society. Do you think that there will be a women president in your lifetime? Do teachers treat boys and girls differently? Are girls encouraged to play sports? We then took notes on the role of women in the early 1800's and the turning points for women. One such turning point was the Seneca Falls Convention. At this convention women got together and wrote The Declaration of Sentiments, patterned after the Declaration of Independence. In groups we looked at different grievances listed and related them to problems of today.
