Bravo on your videos! I was truly impressed. Today we discussed why we study history anyway. Is it really that important? As we begin our official study of history, I hope you recognize its importance in YOUR life! History teaches us patriotism, it encourages us, it intensifies the experience of being alive! Besides, history is fun! Enjoy this little montage as you begin you holiday weekend!
You should have a text book and disclosure in hand today. If you did not receive a book, come see me. Readings will begin on Friday. Additional copies of the disclosure can be found on the "Docs" portion of the website. As a class, we discussed the question, "Do Americans have to know their history to be worthy of their citizenship?" Keep this question in your mind as you continue editing and completing your Jaywalking segments. These are due on Friday. For ease with editing, use the following FREE apps.
IPOD, IPAD, IPHONE users: Videoshop app
ANDROID users: WeVIDEO app
Remember, the final video should be NO MORE than 3 minutes long. Check the "Links" page for tutorials or email me if you need help.
As we start the year, we will be examining the question, "Why do we study history anyway?" To help us further our investigation, you will be conducting your own JayWalking session. You can find the assignment on the "Reading Guides and Docs" page if you missed it. There is also an example of a student video on our class "Links" page. Click here Editing App Options to find both free and paid apps to help you with your editing. If you have questions, please email me. We will be discussing our results on Friday, which is when the final project is due! Good luck! This should be fun!
