1. The second draft of your Bill of Rights paper is due today. I will try my best to read them all and give you feedback - but I make no promises. I will give them back to you on Thursday. The final draft will be due on Tuesday, November 5. Please keep in mind that I will also be grading you based on the voice of your paper. Fill your paper will your personality - not just facts and figures. You do not want your paper to read like a text book. Rather you should include emotion, sarcasm, sass or drama to keep the reader interested. Let your inner voice show through your words!
2. The end of the quarter is Thursday. I should have all your grades completed by Wednesday. If there are any issues, please email me. Wait until Wednesday night to panic.
3. First Quarter's final Celebration of Knowledge is on Oct 31. I realize there is an assembly that day AND it is Halloween, so just study hard and do your best! Please refer to your reading guides as study guides. They are your best friend! The format will remain the same; multiple choice, true/false, matching, short answer and essay. YOU WILL HAVE TO STUDY TO DO WELL! The essay question is below:
At the conclusion of the Revolutionary War, America was a new country with no laws or structure. Somehow a new government had to develop that was strong and yet flexible. Explain the process the founding fathers went through to create a Constitution, governmental structure, and functioning political scene. How did they try to avoid recreating a government like Britain? What speed bumps did they face along the way?
