Do you value the right you have to vote? When you turn 18 will voting in national and local elections be a priority to you? Surprisingly, nearly 1/2 of all Americans don't even vote in presidential elections. The totals for local elections are even more disturbing. During Andrew Jackson's presidency, the number of voters in America doubled! Land ownership was no longer a requirement for voting. What has happened to citizens' desire to vote in our country? Well, in an effort to prematurely exercise your voting right, we are going to be holding a mock vote on THURSDAY!!!
Come in 15 minutes before school or 15 minutes after school to vote on the following 3 referendums. If they pass in your class, I will enforce them from now until Christmas break. They are as follows:
1. All boys will stand any time a girl enters or exits the classroom and remain standing until she sits down or leaves.
2. Anyone caught using their cell phone in class will be required to bring the class a treat next class.
3. If you are tardy to class you must sing "I am a little teapot" with actions in front of the class.
Power point from class today is below
